About JRP
Speedway and Alf Gebhardt
JRP Speedway is owned by
former International Road Racer Alf Gebhardt. Born in
Germany, Mr. Gebhardt began racing in 1960 and has raced at
such prestigious tracks as Riverside, Sebring and Daytona.
Now a U.S. citizen, he began doing business in Tulsa in 1972
with the purchase of a BMW dealership. Mr. Gebhardt started
teaching children racing on parking lots in town and then
built a go-kart track in 1994 with a driving school and
racing series for children which he runs to this day. In
March 2004 he opened JRP Speedway’s ¼ mile asphalt oval
where Mini Stocks, Factory Stocks, Dwarf Cars, Modifieds and
Pro Mini Stocks race every Saturday night during a season that
runs from April through October. In 2005 the go-kart track
was expanded to a ½ mile road course that will be used
nationally in 2006.
