BOUNTY ON BRADY!!!
Posted July 17, 2006
Gregg Overstreet of Broken Arrow, finally beat the
unbeatable Brady Demeree here at JRP this Saturday night.
After picking up some hints on setting up his car, Gregg
piloted his #55 to the winners circle. Gregg started on the
pole and led from the start to finish half a car length over
Brady. Brady found it a little difficult to pass heat
winner Bobby Milliser to make a run on Overstreet. Brady
finally passed Milliser on the 8th lap to try to
catch the #55. Catching him was one thing, passing him was
another. The two raced side by side, lap after lap until the
final lap coming out of turn four, Overstreet took the
inside lane and came out ahead of Brady on the finish line.
Since Brady has not been beat, Gregg claimed the $200 bounty
on Brady. Timmy Neal in the #5 stock mini stock ran with the
pro's this week and finished fourth over pacer Ames who
rounded out the top five. Dad Brad broke in the heat race
and was unable to compete in the feature.
Mini Cup Future Stars finally saw a new face in the winners
circle as well. We had a double header for the kids to be
able to make up some national points. Newcomer Dylan
Presnell dominated in both races, starting from the back on
both also. This kid was pretty impressive. Point’s leader
Chelsie Roe, finished second in both races as well as Mason
Mingus finishing third in both. In the first feature, Stacey
Herdman finished fourth, Hunter Sanders 5th,
Draven Harrison sixth, Austin Read seventh, and Tyler
Herdman 8th. In the second feature, Tyler
Herdman finished fourth, Draven Harrison, 5th,
Stacey Herdman 6th, Hunter Sanders 7th
and Austin Read rounded out the top eight. The kids will be
back to give us a great show again in two weeks.
Baby Grand's Neil Johnson took both the heat and feature
wins in the 3 car field over Mark Rouse second and J.J.
Point’s leader Matt French took over the lead from pole
sitter Chris Rotert on the second lap to go on and take the
checkered flag in the Factory Stock division. Chris Ford of
Sapulpa also passed Rotert on the same lap to take second
place. Charles Wolfe also of Sapulpa and Chris Rotert both
took to pits on the 17th lap with mechanical
difficulties. Chris Ford was the heat winner.
Estes captured his seventh win of the season over second
place and last week’s winner Mike Osborn, leading from start
to finish in the 20 lap event. Ryan Taylor of Muldrow, Ok.
took home the 3rd spot, with Billy Perkins 4th,
and Joey Moore rounded out the top five. Mike Osborn was the
Doug Bullington once again pulled into victory lane in the
action packed Dwarf race. Last week’s winner James Yount
jumped out for the early lead, and battled for half the race
with Kevin Brewer for the top spot. Bullington passed Yount
on the 11th lap for the second spot, finally
passing Brewer on the 15th lap to go on and
capture another win. Yount spun on the 12 th lap, allowing
Kent Guthrie to take the 3rd position. Kent
Kantor finished in the 4th place. Yount rounded
out the top five. Mike Evens left the track on the 11th
lap because of the two spin rule leaving him with the sixth
position. Rick Quinn and Monty Baker retired to the pits
early with mechanical difficulties. Doug and Kevin were the
Christopher Neal took home the Can Am win this week.
Starting in the 4th position, he took over the
lead on the 3rd lap to go on and get his very
first win. Colton Odell passed #45 Colby Anderson to take
second. Points Leader #17 Josh Fletcher finish fourth,
Bailey Dishman fifth, Adrien Hickman sixth, Katie Conrad
seventh, and Kurtis Justice having a throttle problem came
in eighth. Colton Odell and Josh Fletcher were the heat
This week we were entertained by the new Graduating class of
Can-Am Students. At intermission, the students were
presented with their certificates, pictures and drivers
licenses, and then they put on an exhibition race. This
semester’s class includes: Devin Scoggin, Dakota Burggraf,
Kaitlen Mauldin, Dalton Pack, and Wesley Rushing. These
students put on a great show, and we look forward to
watching them race again.
Next week JRP will host their regular program with Modifieds,
Factory Stocks, Mini Stocks, Pro Mini Stocks and Dwarf
Cars. See you at the races!
